With its white sand and turquoise waters, the private beach of the À La Petite Baie lodge in Lifou is the stuff of dreams. Annette and her family have built a traditional hut on the shore, along with a pavilion and a small wooden chalet. Simple yet comfortable, they are perfect for discovering tribal life, and enjoying a stay in the magnificent Joj Bay. In the evenings, the hostess serves fresh fish or bougna, the traditional Kanak dish of cooking bananas, yams, taro and coconut milk. Sometimes she also cooks lobster or mangrove crabs – delicate dishes for the most discerning of palates!
When Annette's not in her fields, she offers her guests a trip out into the bay in her va'a (a Polynesian outrigger). It's a fantastic opportunity to see turtles and coral.
