You have arrived here on the most beautiful and most luxurious avenue of the city, simply dubbed the ‘Champs-Elysees of Osaka'. Around you, there are rows of gingko trees, a species classified ‘cultural property' in Japan, a vast green area in the middle of the sprawling metropolis. Standing in front of the building, look up to the heavens: before you, the 27-storey St. Regis, a building designed by the architectural firm Nikken Sekkei, specialists in designing skyscrapers in Japan.
The reception is on the 12th floor, which also houses the hotel's bar and (French) restaurant, as well as its Zen garden. The latter is a little nugget, far from the bustle of the centre, which offers a panoramic view of the city. The style here is clearly Western, but it is not lacking in typical Japanese design touches. It is preferable to book a room on the top floors of the building, so you can enjoy the beautiful panorama, taking in all of Osaka at a single glance.
