The menu is simple and stripped down yet demanding. It was conceived over months by chef Daniele Bendanti, who worked in several starred restaurant across Italy. At Oltre. (with a period), food is undeniably Bolognese, "so as not to forget its roots", whilst "maintaining flavours and simplicity". Traditional cuisine then, yet different from the others, as a chic alternative based on high quality products.
Oltre. is the result of a joint effort between three men: Daniele Bendanti in the kitchen, Lorenzo Giacomo Costa for service and Jacopo Pozzati for the design of the place, warm and contemporary, dressed with trendy furniture. On the façade of the building, you can try and decipher the thousands of stickers up the walls.
As for the cooking, you should not miss the tagliatelle al ragù, the genuine Bolognese sauce. The chef signature dish brings together pigeon, cauliflower and cherries! As a nice bonus, Oltre. developed its own beers and liquors, all homemade.
