Lánchíd 19 – design at the foot of the castle

Do the splits between Buda and Pest, juggling between the past and the present, and fall asleep facing the Danube.

Below the castle, Lánchíd 19 lazes on the Buda banks, embracing Pest with its gaze from behind a facade of glass.

Opened in the 2000s, it was the first design hotel in the city—and the only one, to date, to be part of the Design Hotels network. Its contemporary architecture offers a complete break with the 19th century landscape that surrounds it. But not only. The past blends with the present in the lobby whose floor of glass, once again, reveals Roman ruins. You can admire them from the Alvar Aalto chairs, a nice nod to this temporal pirouette. As for the rooms, they are turned outwards, looking from one side towards the castle, and from the other towards the Danube. Some have balconies.

The panoramic suite opens on three sides. When the veil of night falls, the city is illuminated with thousands of lights and the view becomes magical.
