In the well-off Posillopo neighbourhood, chef Enzo Coccia raises pizza-making to the ranks of high art.
The green walls and the tomato-red chairs of pizzeria La Notizia 94 create a relaxed atmosphere that is interrupted only by the comings and goings of the staff. Pizzas cook for only 60 seconds in a brick oven fed by a special blend of beech and oak wood. Temperature is adjusted for each set of Margarita, Marinara, and Bianca pizzas. Enzo Coccia's secret weapon is his dough, enriched with just a hint of yeast, which rises for 12 hours in humidity-controlled fermentation chambers. Carefully leaving nothing to chance, the chef prepares the lightest, crispiest, and most savoury pizzas in the city. Clients are treated like old friends, in respect with the legendary Italian sense of hospitality.
To get here, take the tram to Vomero, and then head towards Posillopo.
