Located in a former Turkish bath, the Maison de la Photographie has retained the building's original circular structure to remain authentic. Opened in 2002 in the heart of the Old Town, it exhibits works by famous photographs, such as Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Raymond Depardon and Édouard Boubat. In the temporary exhibition gallery, you can discover "plastician", humanist and photojournalist photographs.
Amongst a collection of more than 400 works exhibited, admire Marc Riboud's famous Flower Child, taken during anti-Vietnam war demonstrations. A springboard for various local artists, the museum also gives insight into currently world-renowned photographers. For those who crave strong imagery and historical symbols, as well as the pure pleasure of contemplating snapshots from times gone by, this address may become your new sanctuary.
