Crampotte 30, regional products and friendliness

A casual shack on the old port.

You do not know what a "crampotte" is? Under the reign of Napoleon III, heyday of Biarritz's fishing harbour, the crampotte in Gascon idiom described a "small house" where fishermen used to rest and store some equipment.

In the 1930s, one of these, the Crampotte 30, became a local landmark for its picturesque quality among boats and seagulls. It is easily recognisable by its green shutters and red tables.

Here a friendly spirit perpetually reigns among the regulars, who make coming here to share tapas, verrines and homemade preserves and delicacies a most inviting idea. Pâtés, meats, cheeses and other treats come directly from the market and from regional producers.

A relaxed atmosphere, it is the perfect place to kick back for a sundowner, a glass of txakoli in hand - please drink responsibly - as you set the world to rights and enjoy just being in the moment.
