In this classically styled building from 1900, the Zacheta National Gallery of Art organises temporary exhibitions of contemporary art that are always of high calibre. Under the mouldings of its beautiful ceiling, the gallery regularly incorporates pieces from its own collection (including works by Miroslaw Balka and Tadeusz Kantor).
With a collection of more than 600 permanent paintings and 2,600 graphic works of all kinds, all of Polish origin, the museum has, over the course of its history, also shown works by famous artists such as Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec, Ernst, and Picasso. The Zacheta National Gallery of Art also functions as a cultural centre with workshops, meetings, conferences, and concerts. You will find within its walls a bookshop and a restaurant, Po Prostu Art Bistro, as well.
